If you're tired of the tinny sound from your flat panel TV but don't have the room for a home cinema system, then the Q-Acoustics Q-TV2 is the answer to your dreams!

Q-Acoustics have spent years developing the Q-TV2 system so that it doesn't just work but that it sounds good, too. The idea sounds simple, but getting it to work effectively has taken great skill on Q-Acoustics part.

Essentially, the Q-TV2 consists of a frame that attaches to the back of any 30-42 inch LCD or plasma TV. The frame attaches to the usual wall mounting slots and is fully adjustable for width and depth. Attached to the back of the frame are a powerful subwoofer and amplifier with a total power output of 100 watts (50 for the subwoofer and 25 for each satellite). At either end of the frame you'll find compact satellite speakers with 3cm x 12cm drive units and ability to swivel left and right. If all this sounds a bit bulky, trust us, it's not! The subwoofer and amp unit are less than 40mm thick and the only parts visible in normal use are the discreet satellite speakers. Once attached, the Q-TV2 adds little extra bulk to your existing TV. Should you want to wall mount it, a special bracket is also available from Q-Acoustics.

Discreet looking it may be but the Q-TV2 is anything but when it comes to sound quality. For such a slim unit the bass output is stunning. Listening blind it would be easy to think you were listening to a conventional, box subwoofer, such is the richness and weight of sound. The main speakers provide accurate timbre for realistic speech and levels of detail well beyond normal TV speakers. Furthermore, the position of the speakers creates excellent staging for believable depth and width of sound - no longer will the audio sound "shut in" your TV. In short, the TV2 sounds just like a good quality 2.1 home cinema system - but without all the wires and boxes!

Although not as flexible as a separates home cinema system, the Q-TV2 has all the sockets you're likely to need. The easiest way of connecting your TV is by the headphone socket. This way, your TV speakers remain muted and you can use your existing TV remote. Other options include optical digital and phono RCA fixed inputs. These are perfect for connecting other sources such as an MP3 player, iPod or even the TV itself. Should you use these, then a simple remote control is included to adjust the volume control. "Teach" your learning remote control from this remote and you'll still only need a single remote and, in effect, have a combined and complete audio and visual system in one!

Although we don't usually recommend this type of all-in-one product, the Q-TV2 is in a different league to others and we can confidently recommend it. Buy with confidence!
