QNED (Quantum Dot & Mini LED) Technology

The QE75QN80HAUXXU is a Neo QLED television (QNED), which just means that it uses a combination of quantum dot and mini LED technology. Instead of just using a few large LED backlights, mini LED televisions use a grid of loads of different little LED backlights, which can be turned on or off as needed. This helps to give a more precise picture with less colour bleeding and darker blacks, as it only lights up the exact bits of the screen that are needed.

The quantum dot layer allows for incredibly precise colour control. Incredibly small crystals are grown in a highly controlled and specific process, which allows for control over structural properties down to the size of atoms themselves (nanoscale). Practically, this results in much, much finer control over the exact colours that your TV can display, in a way that loses far less brightness from the backlights, so you get really bright colours.
