Picture

The bild i.55 is a 4K (also called Ultra HD or UHD) television. This means there are over 8 million pixels spread across the screen, which allows for breath taking picture detail. This is four times higher than the previous benchmark of full HD (FHD), and it shows. From being able to differentiate the hairs on a lion’s mane during an Attenborough marathon all the way to watching a panning cityscape shot and realising you can make out the detail of every building, 4K means delivery of a crystal-clear picture.

Most exciting of all is the nature of how the bild i.55 generates the picture for you to view. Loewe’s bild i series utilise the very latest developments in OLED display technology. OLED screens are fundamentally different from any other TV technology, resulting in unprecedented improvements in viewing performance. Almost all other consumer television displays have a layer which generates the coloured image, with backlights to shine through so that the picture is bright and visible. In an OLED screen, the individual pixels themselves emit coloured light and can turn on and off independently. Practically, this means no colour bleeding or blending, no halos around bright objects on a dark background and pixel perfect viewing. Motion is also amazingly fluid and smooth, with perfect contrast and colour reproduction.

Loewe’s bild i series also have HDR (High Dynamic Range) support as standard. When combined with the already impressive display quality, HDR transforms picture quality from great to absolutely breath taking. The two most noticeable effects of HDR support are better lighting (through bigger ranges of both brightness and contrast) and more realistic colours. Using both features in tandem allows the bild i.55 to play HDR supported media that looks fantastically realistic.

Sound

Bild i models incorporate Loewe’s latest “invisible sound” speakers. The built in speakers in the i.55 are designed to be hidden from view for a fantastic visual design.
